About Me.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life and I’ve been very lucky to be able to work with a lot of them. From stables to veterinary surgery’s I’ve thrown myself into many different experiences and can honestly say I loved every minute of it. But dogs, dogs have my heart. My relationship with dogs has been strong from an early age, as far back as I can remember I was always surrounded by them. We rescued, fostered and had dogs of our own. 

It wasn’t until I finished college where I studied Animal Management that I started to feel a bit stuck as to what was next for me. While working a job I was pretty miserable in I stumbled upon potential job with a local dog groomer. After a couple of trial days I became part of the furniture and never left. Dog grooming as a career hadn’t even been on my radar and yet I had fallen head over heels in love with it. I was lucky enough to start off in a welcoming relaxed environment where both us and the dogs could be ourselves.

10 years flew by and a lot had changed so I decided I needed a change too. As if there wasn’t enough uncertainty already happening (coronavirus) suddenly I was starting up my own business. After all the stress, money worries and endless ‘to do’ lists…The Barking Lot was born! My very own home studio, where all dogs are welcome!
